Working Round Home

There is a lot of work to be done at home. I can't remember if I wrote this or not but the people who lived here before, well the ones for the last few years, did not take very good care of the house or the grounds. So everyone at home works really hard making the gardens look nice and finishing projects that were eagerly started years ago by people who weren't too motivated to put the work in after the initial excitement and creativity transformed into consistent hard work. So yeah, there's lots happening and it's looking really good! This is a square of soil I turned and am going to eventually build a bench on the porch and plant tulip bulbs. For now though it's coming into winter and my focus is gathering and chopping firewood.

This is Dylan, Anita's (the woman who lives in the main house- she is a painter who teaches at the art school. I really like her because we laugh a lot and she is easy going. Her partner, Beck lives there as well but I don't have any photos of him yet.) So yes, this is Dylan working in garden. He lives in a house truck and has a wee boy Oscar. They often come out on the weekends which I really enjoy because they are lovely people and Oscar is just so cute and laughs a lot. I really like laughing!

This is Jack finishing the front patio with brick. He's an artist that works with juxtaposition of nature and metal/steel type stuff. His work is pretty amazing. Jack lives in a home he's made for himself that is amazingly creative and began with a railway car. He's my chess opponent who used to be in the chess club so, yeah, he's really good. I've beaten him once...so far. I really enjoy getting to know him because he's quite quiet and is very thoughtful when conversing which slows me down from talking so much and I listen more.

This is my friend, Digby. We play tennis together and he's really good! He's making a table for me out of this stump. Pretty exciting!
