At Serpentine Beach...again

I just love it here! This is the road coming down to the beach... so from where I'm standing the beach is directly behind me. We drive past this beach on our way to Hoki so whenever I go to Hoki I try and take Kaiya so we get a good run around after town.

Stream flowing into the lagoon

The ever changing lagoon. It's amazing how much it changes each week or even day.. I love it!

One thing I miss from the states is the deserts. Most other environments and landscapes from the states can be founf here... little bits that remind me of home that satisfy the cravings- mountains (in some areas the mountiains look just like the mountains around missoula- the "montana mtns" I call 'em- the rolling mellow mtns/hills with patches of trees..mmm), lakes, rivers, beaches, bays but not the desert. Until here have I really felt that sandy openness/rugedness that comes with some deserts. The scattered rocks of all sizes and strewn about logs add to the "desert" feel. There's just so many reasons I love this beach!!

We love your posts as well...and hopefully we'll be able to make a post together...in Kumara. We're heading your way and would love to see you...oh, yeah - and eat some American grub. Forget this egg on a hamburger thing...I want beef!

We're in Fox Glacier today, March 17th...Happy St. Patty's! We'll give youa call tomorrow. It's our day off!

Love the blog!
